The new electric Mazda MX-30 presented at the Tokyo Motor Show

Mazda unveiled last week its first-ever 100% electric vehicle, the new Mazda MX-30. The unveiling took place at the Tokyo Motor Show and although it is actually the second EV from Mazda (the first was the Mazda Demio offered only to Japan in small quantities in 2012), it will be the first mass-production Mazda EV.

Obviously, being a Mazda product, the MX-30 will be very fun to drive in addition to offering several elements taken from the old Mazda rotary engine and the models it powered. The Mazda MX-30's electric motor will be powered by a 35.5 kWh battery, but Mazda could also offer a range extender that would actually be a rotating Wankel engine. The other noteworthy feature on the Mazda MX-30 is its rear suicide doors that provide easier access to the cabin.

Speaking of the cabin, the Mazda MX-30 electric vehicle features a fully digital center console and a new platform with an ultra-modern gear lever.

The Mazda MX-30 will be available on the market next year!
