What is adaptive cruise control?

Adaptive Cruise Control is one of the most useful driver assistance technologies found on modern vehicles today. Included in the Mazda i-ACTIVESENSE group, Mazda adaptive cruise control improves comfort and peace of mind on the road and specifically on the highway.

Adaptive Cruise Control uses a camera and radar system to monitor the road in front of you when cruise control is enabled. The system is then able to detect whether the vehicle in front of you suddenly slows down or you are cut off in your lane and slow down automatically to maintain a predetermined distance with the vehicle.

In more concrete terms, you can control the distance with the vehicle in front of you. Once this distance is determined, you will see that if there is another car ahead of you on the highway and it is getting closer, your car will be able to adjust and maintain a safe distance.
