2021 Mazda CX-5 vs. 2021 Nissan Rogue: The CX-5 Elevates Your Driving Experience

Intuitive and connected, yet powerful and fun, the 2021 CX-5 opens a new era of capability for compact SUV enthusiasts. This five-seat model features two powertrains that open up more adventures, technologies that enhance safety and performance, and available i-Activ AWD to conquer the road ahead. Every journey also starts with a comfortable interior that feels and looks luxurious.

The CX-5 has made its place in its segment. However, it is important to understand how it compares to the competition. Here, we line it up with the 2021 Nissan Rogue.

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 is more exciting

Four CX-5 models include a 2.5-litre four-cylinder that generates 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The Rogue offers a single engine, also a 2.5-litre four-cylinder. However, it produces 181 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, which is slightly less than the CX-5's first offering.

The CX-5 adds a boost in performance with its turbocharged 2.5-litre that is capable of producing 250 horsepower and a performance-inspired 320 lb-ft of torque. Since the Rogue doesn't have another powertrain option, the CX-5 leaves it far behind in performance capabilities. The turbocharged engine is standard or accessible in three CX-5 models.

The Mazda also has another secret—it offers six well-equipped models, and the Rogue only offers three. Mazda's i-Activ AWD features a high sensor count that works to identify changes in road and driving conditions and make on-the-fly adjustments. This and other driving technologies on the CX-5 make this SUV a more exciting option than the Rogue.

You must experience the 2021 Mazda CX-5

Lower to the ground with more nimble exterior dimensions than the Rogue, the CX-5 is a performer during downtown driving, or finding its place in highway traffic, or touring the open road. The interior is also designed to help you through long trips with relaxing occupant volume, including more rear legroom than the Rogue. Your friends and family will thank you for it.

Overall, the CX-5 features more choices for your needs, tastes, and budget.
