If you need to take a boat, ATV or other item to the cottage, the Mazda CX-5 is there for you with a much better towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. The Tiguan is maxed out at 1,500 pounds. But the CX-5 can also provide a much sportier drive thanks to standard G-Vectoring Plus system and the available i-Activ AWD system, which is much more advanced than what the Tiguan offers with the 4MOTION system.
The CX-5 also features a more upscale interior, with refined textures and materials all around that create a luxury-like environment. This is a big factor when compared to the Tiguan’s interior, which uses a lot of hard plastics.
