2022 Mazda CX-5: Smart Craftsmanship and Performance

The 2022 Mazda CX-5 compact crossover inherits Mazda’s tradition of producing driver-focused vehicles with plenty of standard equipment at a mainstream price point. This year’s model features greater efficiency and an upscale look that’s very appealing inside and out. Moreover, the 2022 Mazda CX-5 gains standard i-ACTIV all-wheel drive technology and better infotainment with a larger centre screen and more connected features.

Design heritage and smart power in the new 2022 Mazda CX-5

The CX-5’s exterior was carefully designed by Takumi craftsmen, resulting in a vehicle that incorporates the principles of Kodo “Soul of Motion” Design. Each trim integrates this concept with every feature. The GX trim includes heated side mirrors, auto LED headlights, weather-sensing wipers, and many safety features. Added to the GS line are a front wiper de-icer, lane departure warning, and auto high beams. The GT builds on with LED fog lights, power folding mirrors, signature front and rear lights, and much more. The Signature’s 19” alloy wheels with a gunmetal finish tops the standard equipment offerings.

This compact SUV is powered by a 2.5L four cylinder that generates 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, which is best-in-class. This engine is standard in the GX, GS, and GT trims, with the turbocharged version offered as well. The latter delivers an exception 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful engine in the segment by far. Fuel consumption is rated at an efficient 7.6 l/100km and 9.3 l/100km. The 6-speed automatic transmission enables a smooth trip and responsive acceleration, and the CX-5 can be equipped with cylinder deactivation, something you won’t find anywhere else.

A calm interior inside the 2022 Mazda CX-5

The CX-5 has one of the quietest interiors in its class and comes well-equipped with standard features. Introduced last year, a new 10.25-inch centre display offers the latest connectivity features and you will also find heated front seats, push-button start, and power windows and doors. A heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate, rear heated seats, panoramic sunroof and other comfort technologies are offered across the 2022 Mazda CX-5 lineup.

If you want the ultimate interior luxury, the Signature trim will spoil you with its Cocoa Nappa leather-trimmed upholstery, Abachi wood-trimmed door and dash panels and exclusive exterior design elements.
