Here are the Three Engine Choices of the 2022 Mazda CX-30

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 gives you more choice than its competitors by offering three engines that offer varying levels of power and fuel consumption.

The 2.0L engine

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 comes standard with a very efficient 2.0L Skyactiv four-cylinder engine that delivers 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels with the help of a six-speed automatic transmission and the standard i-Activ all-wheel drive system. This engine is very responsive and makes the CX-30 more agile in city driving. Due to its high level of technology, this engine only burns 7,7 litres of fuel to drive 100 kilometres on the highway.

The 2.5L engine

Stepping up to the 2022 Mazda CX-30 GS or GT replaces the standard engine with a larger 2.5L Skyactiv four-cylinder. This change benefits the driving experience by making the CX-30 more fun to drive on twisty roads where the added horsepower helps power it out of corners with the help of the torque vectoring rear differential included in the i-Activ AWD. Despite its 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, this engine can achieve the same low fuel consumption as the 2.0L when driving on the highway, with an average of 7,7 litres per 100 kilometres.

The turbocharged 2.5L engine

At the top of the engine lineup for the 2022 Mazda CX-30 stands the turbocharged 2.5L engine. Available on the GT trim level, this engine boosts performance to a higher level by making 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque available at the touch of the accelerator when using 93 octane fuel. This makes for a dynamic driving experience that is also well suited to daily use. Even with this large increase in power, the fuel consumption is barely affected and the CX-30 equipped with this engine can have an average fuel consumption of only 7.9 litres per 100 kilometres. If desired, this engine can also be run on regular grade 87 octane fuel and still deliver 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque with no risk of damage.
