How Mazda Connect Features Help You Get Through Winter

In addition to its long list of i-Activsense driver assistance features and i-Activ all-wheel drive system, Mazda has another way of making your life easier in its vehicles this winter: Mazda Connect features. Here is what you should know about them.

Remote start with the phone app

The ability to start your vehicle’s engine and have its cabin warm up right from your phone is probably the feature you will appreciate most in winter. Indeed, no matter how cold it gets outside, your Mazda vehicle will always welcome you with a warm and comfortable cabin at the touch of a button on the MyMazda app.

Remote locking and unlocking

Using the same MyMazda app, you can also lock and unlock your vehicle’s doors and trunk from anywhere, at any time. While this may seem superfluous at first, you might be grateful for this feature if you need to grab something in your car but you’ve forgotten the key, for example. With the MyMazda app, you won’t have to go back inside and then brave the cold a second time, you will be able to simply unlock your vehicle with your phone. Another useful way this system helps you is by making it possible to give access to your vehicle to someone without having to give them your key.

Vehicle health reports

Mazda Connect services include a feature that provides you with detailed vehicle health reports directly on your phone, making it possible to see at a glance if your vehicle needs attention. Since winter takes a toll on various parts, such as the tires and the battery, getting to see voltage and pressures from the comfort of your home allows you to take proactive actions that will prevent unpleasant surprises while out on the road.

Roadside assistance

Despite your best efforts at preparation, winter driving will always have its share of unpredictable elements that can leave you stranded on the side of the road. Don’t worry, however, since Mazda has got your back once again, with its roadside assistance program that is included in the Mazda Connect services. At the press of a button in your Mazda vehicle, you are put into contact with roadside assistance personnel or emergency services in the case of an accident. This means that you won’t have to stay out in the cold for a long time even if your vehicle ends up being out of order.
