The Mazda MX-30 fully electric vehicle is coming to Saskatchewan in 2023

Since the cost of gasoline shows no signs of slowing down, many people are thinking about making the switch to an electric vehicle. As more and more electric vehicle models become available, now is the ideal time to shop for one. Now that we know the 2023 Mazda MX-30 will be available in Saskatchewan, it should be near the top of your list if you're in the market for an electric vehicle.

Here's everything you want to know about this affordable, dynamic new electric vehicle from Mazda.

The 2023 Mazda MX-30 offers the range you actually need

Maximum range for the 2023 Mazda MX-30 is 161 kilometres which is less than what other EVs offer. This  has been a topic of discussion ever since the MX-30 was introduced. However, h ow often do you actually drive over 150 km in a day?  Canadians typically travel 8.7 kilometres per workday. Though some commutes may be longer, the average daily commute is less than 50 kilometres.

Therefore, the 2023 Mazda MX-30 has more than enough range for your daily needs if you define range as the number of kilometres you need to drive each day rather than the maximum number of kilometres you could theoretically drive.

The MX-30 offers much quicker charging capability

Why, exactly, is electric vehicle range such a big deal? After all,  we don't give much thought to how far our gas-powered car can take us. Since we can easily and quickly refuel a gas-powered vehicle, we don't worry about its limited range. Would it be unacceptable if the gas range of your car was only 161 kilometres?

If it takes your electric car nine, ten, or even twelve hours to fully charge, that's a problem. However, range becomes less of an issue when you can charge your electric vehicle in a few hours as opposed to over 10 hours in a traditional EV.

The Mazda MX-30's 35.5 kWh battery can be charged at a much quicker rate. Indeed, you can charge your Mazda EV in about 3 hours on a home charger, about a third the time it takes a regular electric vehicle.

With a 50-kilowatt Level III charger, you can restore 80% of your battery's capacity in about 36 minutes. It is possible to charge other electric vehicles in under an hour on a Level III charger, but they typically require 150 kW to do so.

In other words, the Mazda MX-30 charges a lot faster than other EVs, which more than offsets its lesser range. You have enough electric range to do 99% of your daily trips, and if you need to go further you will enjoy its very quick charging capability.

The unmatched value

The 2023 Mazda MX-30 is an electric vehicle that provides the range you need with the fast charging times you desire. Not only that, but the value you receive is unparalleled. Thanks to the federal electric vehicle rebates, your Mazda MX-30 can cost less than $40,000.  Combine that with how much you will save on gas, and you will be saving money every single day in a new 2023 Mazda MX-30.
